Black Onyx Pendant with Pavé Accent — 925 Sterling Silver

Price

₹1,599.00

Worn to Outlast.

An oval black onyx cabochon rests inside an open, inverted-V halo lined with sparkling pavé stones, suspended from a sleek trapeze bail. The contrast is deliberate — the onyx's matte-deep black grounded beneath a line of light, catching the eye before settling on the stone itself.

The design work, explained:

  1. The bail (top) — Instead of a simple loop, this uses a solid trapeze/wedge-cut bail. It's a heavier, more architectural way to hang the pendant, giving it a cleaner, more structured silhouette right where it meets the chain, rather than a plain jump ring.

  2. The pavé halo (the "V" shape) — Two curved lines of small pavé-set stones meet in an inverted V above the onyx, like an open teardrop or almond frame. This is a classic "accent halo" technique — the small stones don't compete with the onyx, they frame it, directing the eye downward to the main stone. It also adds movement and light-catch to what is otherwise a very matte, light-absorbing gem.

  3. The onyx setting (bottom) — A 4-prong claw setting, open at the sides, letting light hit the stone from multiple angles despite onyx being opaque. The prongs are minimal so they don't interrupt the stone's smooth dome.

  4. Overall composition — This is a "light-to-dark" design: sparkle at the top (pavé), solid darkness at the bottom (onyx). It reads as more ornate/celebratory than the plain solitaire pendant from earlier — better suited for gifting occasions (Rakhi, anniversaries) versus the solitaire's everyday minimalism.
